Top 10 Exporting Countries in 2012

WTO (World Trade Organization) published its International Trade Statistics 2013 recently. 

On this publication we can find invaluable information regarding the current status global trade. 

International Trade Statistics is the WTO’s annual compilation of global trade statistics. 

They have been published online since year 2001. As these statistics are collected by WTO they are the best available source in terms of reliability.

10. Hong Kong:

Hong Kong is the 10th biggest exporting country in year 2012 with its exports amount reached to 493 billion USD dollars. Hong Kong’s exports are forming 2,7% of global exports in year 2012. Hong Kong experienced a significant 8% increase on its exports in year 2012.

Major exports: Gold (9%), Diamonds (8%), Electronic integrated circuits (6%), Telephones (6%), Jewelry of precious metal (3%).

Major Export Partners: China (24%), India (6%), United Kingdom (5%), Vietnam (4%).

9. Italy:

Italy is the 9th biggest exporting country in year 2012 with its exports amount reached to 501 billion USD dollars. Italy’s exports constitute around 2,7% of total global exports in year 2012. Italy is a member of European Union. Along with most of the EU members, Italy experienced a decrease on its export in year 2012 which is around 4% comparing to year 2011.

Major exports: Petroleum oils, refined (4%), Medicaments, packaged (4%), Parts and accessories of the motor vehicles (3%), Cars (2%), Appliances for thermostatically controlled valves (2%).

Major Export Partners: Germany (12%), France (11%), United States (7%), Spain (5%), United Kingdom (5%).

8. Russian Federation:

Russian Federation is the 8th biggest exporting country in year 2012 with exports total reached to 529 billion USD dollars. Russian Federation’s exports constitute around 2,9% of total global exports in year 2012. Russian Federation exports slightly increased in year 2012 which is around 1% comparing to year 2011.

Major exports: Petroleum oils, crude (36%), Petroleum oils, refined (16%), Petroleum gases (12%), Coal; briquettes (3%), Semi-finished products of iron or no-alloy steel (2%).

Republic of Korea is the 7th biggest exporting country in year 2012 with exports total reached to 548 billion USD dollars. Republic of Korea’s exports constitute around 3,0% of total global exports in year 2012. Republic of Korea exports slightly decreased in year 2012 around 1% comparing to year 2011. 

Major exports: Electronic integrated circuits (9%), Cruise ships and similar vessels for the transport of persons (8%), Cars (7%), Petroleum oils, refined (6%), Liquid crystal devices (5%).

France is the 6th biggest exporting country in year 2012 with exports total reached to 569 billion USD dollars. France’s exports constitute around 3,1% of total global exports in year 2012. France is a member of European Union. Along with most of the EU members, France experienced a decrease on its export in year 2012 which is around 5% comparing to year 2011.

China is the biggest exporting country in year 2012 with exports total reached to 2.049 billion USD dollars. China’s exports constitute around 11,1% of total global exports in year 2012. China exports significantly increased in year 2012 which is around 8% comparing to 2011 exports.
